Title: Flow-velocity distribution below a hydraulic structure
Abstract. A two-dimensional mathematical model of vertical and longitudinal velocity below
a horizontal solid apron of hydraulic structures is presented. Continuity and dynamic equations for steady flow in mathematical description of phenomenon were used. Partial-differential equations were solved using the finite-differences method. Model parameters were identified by means of trial-and-error procedure on the basic of laboratory test data. Proposed model variants of mathematical flow-velocity distribution below hydraulic structure present meaningful or strong dependence between values of flow-velocity computed using mathematical model and measured on physical model.
Key words: local scouring, velocity distribution, 2-D hydrodynamic model
